Process Engineer/Senior Process Engineer

Position Summary
Process Engineer up to Sr. Process Engineer
Provides technical support and drives continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity and productivity at the site to ensure safe and optimal process utilization to support specialty carbon business plans.
Job Responsibilities
Improve Plant Performance -Identifies, recommends and implements improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs. Gathers and evaluates appropriate data, utilizing statistical techniques, to improve process capability and/or identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities. Facilitate unit Continuous Process improvement team efforts.
Operations Technical Support - Provides technical advice and support to resolve operating problems, understanding unit downtime issues, controlling unit grade operating conditions and investigating deviations using root cause analysis. Technical authority for area units.
Resolves Quality Issues -Works with quality personnel and operations to understand causes of unit product quality issues and develops actions to improve processes that will improve customer satisfaction.
Training -Develops and provides training as required to support manufacturing personnel in the understanding and operation of manufacturing unit processes.
SOP Development - assist in development of plant-wide Standard Operating Procedures for process and equipment operation.
PSM/Process MOC - Ensures all product and process changes are implemented consistent with appropriate Management of Change protocol and relevant PSM elements to Cabot.
New Product/Process Campaigns - Supports and implements new product and process runs and prepares relevant documentation to execute. Develops and implements equipment, procedure and process changes including design and implementation of improvement projects, and participation in Hazard Operability Studies, as applicable. Assists in the design and operation of new equipment.
Technical Communications -Communicates regularly with regional and global counterparts in specialty carbons business to facilitate continuous improvement and ongoing organizational learning.
Capital Support -Provide support to develop and implement plant related capital projects.
Bachelor/University degree in Chemical Engineering
Carbon black manufacturing experience required; 2+ years strongly preferred
Knowledge and experience of:
Chemical Manufacturing; process and product technology
with carbon black manufacturing
Root Cause Analysis
Plant process equipment, chemistry and controls
managing small projects -planning, task identification and achieving milestones
Knowledge of Process Safety Management and ISO process awareness/compliance

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
