Reliability Engineer

Position Summary
The Reliability Engineer investigates equipment problems and failures to find root causes and implement recommendations for equipment modifications and upgrades to improve plant performance and reliability. Primary responsibilities include performing and leading RCFA's for all major equipment failures, developing purchase specifications for any new equipment, preforming equipment specifications for complex equipment repairs, setting equipment PM/inspection and testing intervals, and assisting with project planning. Reliability Engineer has overall responsibility for the site mechanical integrity program, including management of the equipment inspection and testing program, performing equipment "end of life" assessments, maintaining recommendations for equipment repairs and replacements, maintaining equipment repair documentation files for process safety information, management of change pertaining to equipment modifications, and ensuring compliance with all engineering codes and standards.
Job Responsibilities
Manage equipment preventative maintenance and inspection program. Create, enter and maintain equipment PM's into the JDE system.
Investigate equipment problems and design modifications to improve reliability, productivity and safety using failure analysis to determine root cause and recommend improvements.
Develop new equipment specifications based on the requirements of the production and maintenance departments, draft requests for quotes, review supplier quotations, and make recommendations for purchase.
Assist with equipment repairs of stationary and rotating equipment by working with original equipment manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers, and outside repair shops.
Project planning of major equipment repairs and upgrades by determining requirements, writing specifications and obtaining quotations.
Manage and monitor maintenance project progress executed by company personnel or outside service providers.
Provide technical support for developing critical equipment start-up and operating procedures. Responsible for Site Mechanical Integrity Program. Manage equipment inspection and testing program for the facility.
Communicating the results of incident and equipment failure investigations in a clear and concise manager.
Giving guidance on material selection for maintenance and capital requirements.
Ensuring compliance with all mechanical codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices (ASME, API, ANSI, OSHA)
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Maintenance/Reliability experience in a plant or manufacturing environment
Proven record of safe and effective work practices in an industrial environment.
Strong technical skills in mechanical/instrumentation systems.
Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement plans.
Ability to organize efforts from teams and individuals to accomplishh a goal.
Good communication skills.
Cultivate a team atmosphere.
Preferred Skills:
Five or more years working in Reliability Engineering in a plant environment
API Certifications
Knowledge of ASME codes
Knowledge and background in welding processes.
Experience/certification in vibration data collection and analysis.
Rotating equipment design and repair experience
Formal training in RCFA methodology

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
